Family Preservation
When children are separated from their families because of
abuse it often does more harm than good and can leave
negative effects on them. Children need to have a safe and
stable family. The GCCS Family Preservation program helps to
build healthy family relationships and helps families to
stay together.
At GCCS, we offer parenting classes in homes, small groups,
and at various congregations. We also offer
counseling services
for the parents and children. There
is a 24 hour availability of staff.
Family Preservation services are provided to all types of
families including; foster, kinship, adoptive, and birth or
biological families. The objective of the family
preservation program is to preserve family unity and ensure
safety and wellbeing of the child. We work with problems
before they reach the critical stages where a child is
removed from their home.
Foster Care
The
objective of GCCS's family foster care program is to provide
a safe, structured and nurturing environment for children
where their physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual
needs can be met and appropriate plans pursued for the
permanency of their future. The goal of foster care
placement is to strengthen the biological family unit and
resolve the conditions which caused the out-of-home
placement so the children can be reunited with their family.
Failing that, our involvement will be to assist in finding
alternative or permanent placement for children.

Adoptive Care

GCCS's goal is to unite
families and to assist them in having healthy relationships.
Over the years the agency has done this work in a variety of
ways. One key way is by assisting parents to adopt children
and children to adopt parents. GCCS is a licensed Child
Placement Agency in both Tennessee and Georgia. We are
excited for every opportunity to assist in the process of
uniting families.

Respite
Care
Respite
care is provided by the GCCS foster parents in Tennessee and
Georgia.
The GCCS respite care services provide short term
care to children who have disabilities or children in danger
of abuse or neglect. Seeking respite care can help reduce
stress from Birth/Foster parents. Elevated stress levels can
lead to many problems in the home, including abuse and
divorce. Respite care is a necessity when caring for
children with disabilities or children in the care of the
state. Respite stands for Relaxation Enjoyment Stability
Preservation Involvement Time Off and Enrichment (www.parenttoparentofga.org)
Respite care is a program that takes care of the caretakers. |
